Matthew Alan Thomas is an experienced educator with over 13 years of experience as a PE teacher, working in diverse environments, from London to the UAE. He has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at fostering inclusion through sports, notably in Unified Sports. As a partner of the Unified League and a SENCO-in-training, Matthew's work champions the integration of students of determination, using sport as a transformative medium to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and community cohesion. His career highlights include leading a city-wide Unified Sports program and shaping extracurricular activities at Queen Ethelburga’s in York. With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, he draws from global teaching experiences, including time in Lesotho, where he used sport to address social issues. Currently based in Dubai, Matthew continues to advocate for adaptive and inclusive sports while inspiring educators to embrace innovative and empathetic practices.
